Measures to support accessibility
Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of the usdb.org and usdbfoundation.org websites:
- USDB’s website has been audited in an effort to meet national web accessibility standards as described in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Telecommunications Act.
Additional accessibility considerations
Our goal is for our website to be fully accessible to everyone, including individuals who are head, hard of hearing, deafblind, blind, or low vision. We use alt text on all images on the website. Sighted viewers won’t see the alt text, but individuals using screen readers will benefit from the image descriptions provided. We avoid placing pdf files on the website. Videos created by USDB for the Utah School for the Blind will include an option to watch a version of the video that includes audio description of the images or broll included in the videos. Any audio or video with sound will include closed captions and/or American Sign Language.
